About Us

Adam Zoia

Adam’s professional career since 1997 has been applying technology to recruiting.

Glocap, an executive search and temporary staffing firm where he is still the Chairman, was founded by Adam in 1997 on a then-radical idea of distributing job listings via email to reduce sourcing costs. From that simple idea, Adam led the building of a complete, bespoke recruiting software platform which has been continuously upgraded during Adam’s tenure as CEO. Adam was the CEO for 20 years during which time he consistently enabled Glocap to earn industry-leading margins.

Glocap sources, assesses, and places financial professionals with global clients include leading private equity, hedge funds, real estate, family office, investment banking, venture capital firms, and since 2013 digital media functions across many enterprise types. Glocap has made over 20,000 placements.

In 2015, Adam started his next tech-enabled recruiting business when co-founded, invested in, and conceived of Stella.ai, Inc., a NYC-based artificial intelligence company that pools together and automatically recirculates non-hired hourly applicants from some of the largest companies in the US. Stella raised over $26 million in financing and counts AT&T, Hilton, Hyatt, and many other large hourly employers as its customers. Adam was Stella’s CEO from 2018-2021 when it was sold and prior to that was its Chairman.

In 2016, Adam founded, invested in, and served as CEO of CompIQ until it was bought by Stella in 2018. CompIQ uses big data and machine learning to provide employee-by-employee, customized compensation benchmarking data and also serves as a compensation management and equal pay compliance system.

In 2021, Adam conceived of a tech transformation idea in the health care staffing space. He found two large nurse staffing companies to buy – one PE owned and not for sale and one that would be auctioned and that was family-owned. Stella and Adam and his team would be the transformation leaders. Adam brought two private equity funds that he knew well but didn’t know each other together to fund the transaction (which took two parts given it assembled two large companies separately owned) and he assembled a $1.2 billion buy-out of these two large travel nurse staffing businesses (and related businesses) into which Stella was sold. Adam was appointed the combined company’s CEO role and he assembled the management teams, established the strategic plan, the tech transformation and he also handed out all of the key employees. Adam initially ran the new, combined company (now called Ingenovis Health) as its CEO and served on its board. Ingenovis is one of the largest travel nurse staffing companies in the USA and has nurses located in every state. In 2021, Ingenovis had record-breaking EBITA in 2021 and was growing very rapidly. Adam left the company in 2021 once everything was well underway and stayed on the board until year end.

In 2022, with one of the same private equity funds, Adam participated in another private equity transaction and again brought in a second private equity fund to participate. This time is was for the acquisition of a large, IT Staffing firm. Adam invested in that company along with the two private equity funds and serves on its Board of Directors.

Adam has authored numerous articles in leading trade journals and publications as a subject matter expert on recruiting, human resources technology, human capital structures, and compensation practices. He also regularly appears on TV. Adam is a regular conference speaker.

Adam graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. from the Wharton School, summa cum laude with a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania and earned the Joseph Warney Yardley Prize for Academic Excellence and Leadership upon graduation and was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar and a Joseph Wharton Scholar while at Penn. Adam graduated with a First in all subjects and on his thesis with an Honours B.A. from Balliol College, University of Oxford and magna cum laude with a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Prior to founding Glocap, Adam was a teaching fellow in economics at Harvard College and worked at McKinsey and DLJ.

Adam is an active marathoner and triathlete and has completed two Ironmen and many marathons. He is an active real estate investor, invests in and advises early-stage tech companies.
